Belated birthday lunch
Artkommunalka takes its food and rituals very seriously, so it was wonderful to be treated to a birthday celebration. It is described as a process as much as a lunch, where everyone has to work to prepare the food and everybody has a job. I was told that they had a live collaboration with German artists at one meal, where a live link went between the two artists' kitchens, one in Germany and the other of course here in Kolomna. The ability to drink single shots of Vodka with a marinated slice of cucumber in the other hand is a requirement, if you want to be a good student here.
